100 series hydraulics

Hi guys I'm back once again looking for some free advice. This time I'm wondering about upgrading the hydraulics on my long suffering MF165 which is a 1976 model and has had zero work ever done to the hydraulics.
It has a tipping hose which is rarely used except at turf time here in deepest darkest Ireland. It works a 3 stage one way ram and sometimes an ancient 3 point back loader here on my smallholding.
I'd like a power top link. Also I'd like to be able to borrow the neighbours land roller which is lifted by hydraulics to move it around.
I know very little about this kind of thing, someone once told me I need to add an oil 'return'?? I'm guessing I will also need some kind of control valve?
The work will be done by my also vintage fitter, who is a genuine wizard but will curse and damn while throwing spanners around and kicking things.
Really I'm just looking for some advice and or options.

You will need to plumb in a spool valve, pipe work possibly via a 3 way selector valve which can be fitted (if not already there) where the single tipping pipe comes out, just in front of seat?, there are a couple of other places to plumb into, but that is the standard one, the return can go back into one of several ports, including an adapted gearbox oil filler plug, best find a fergy man on your doorstep.
