Has anyone used them? Do they last 12 months as they claim?
I'm hoping it will cut down on bolusing, currently using the agrimin 3 in 1 every 6 months.

TIA

The blurb says cobalt, selenium and adeed zinc & mag

Off the website;
12 month continuous Slow Release Cobalt for Sheep from 16 weeks of Age.

Each bullet contains 750mg of Cobalt, 200mg of Selenium and added Zinc and Magnesium.

Continuous 12 month Cobalt, Selenium and Zinc Supplementation.

I’ve used them they do work, I’ve switched back to 6 month Mayo as I need the copper, plus bloods showed some ewes had obviously spat the bolus out and it’s a long time between bolus I hung they do, the 6 month are very easy to administer and I couldn’t see any regurgitated in the yard after.

They only do Cobalt IIRC. Their other boluses are only sold as ‘up to 6 months’, like everyone else’s.

Several on here have posted as having used them, but whether any have tested to see if the 12 month claim stacks up......:scratchhead:
I have a neighbour who has used them,he blood tested before he used them to establish a need. He then blood tested a year later and found that they were still working. On the strength of that he went on to bolus the ewes again. I can assure you this guy is so tight there is no way he would have gone ahead and used them again if they weren’t working. It is not my own experience but this guy was very impressed.

It's only the cobalt which is 12 month.

We've gone back to twice per year bolusing but are very very low in cobalt.

Animax here. The Mayo metal boluses are based on the design of the very first boluses. Question I ask myself is why any other delivery method was invented if metal works so well? Wax works, it’s not perfect but it works.

The 12 month Cobalt boluses may well be (I’ve not used them, just handled them), but their 4 or 5 in 1, six month boluses, are a dissolving capsule containing 2 eroding boluses and a sprinkling of copper oxide rods (in the case of the 5-in-1).

To be fair, I see no great difference in results between the Animax ones and the Mayo ones here, other than the Mayo ones are given as one, whereas the Animax ones need a bit of extra pee’ing about loading a copper capsule in the gun. If you don’t need copper, or you only have a small number to do, then I don’t suppose there's much Difference either way.

seem to recall drench ones here work for quite a few months afterwards due to amount stored in animals
animals being low afterwards may not be giveing a true reading of the pills spat out maybe those animals needing more

I’ve not posted the pic because after speaking to Pearce yesterday it’s a leaching bolus not a dissolving one.
This is what I came here to find out. Had a dead ewe the other day that the wildlife have made short work of, found the following among the carcass:
9564E28F-A072-4D91-B07C-E6AF2AE7C0A5.jpeg

The last bolus they had was the 12 month cobalt master in Oct, previous to that was 5in1 in spring ‘22, they were given a 5in 1 the previous year but couldn’t see any others. There’s maybe a crow or gull flapping about now with sore guts.
