I am considering a change of livestock trailer, looking for a 12ft trailer double axel with decks and internal gates, pretty standard. Have always thought we'd go for another ifor Williams, but recently considered a nugent. What are peoples opinion on build quality and ease of use, as well as back up from manufacturer? All opinions appreciated.
Thanks

We’ve had a Nugent for a few years now, would not consider going back to Ifor. Build quality is noticeably better, without adding a significant amount to the weight (100kg on our model). Door closure is a far simpler design, not so susceptible to being damaged. Decks are a similar principle to Ifor. Only things I’d change are the bar that goes across the personnel door (perhaps that’s gone anyway) and the fact that the tailgate sits quite high when on the ground and some stock don’t like the step up.
I don’t know if you’d use the same dealers as us, but they’ve been very good, changing anything that was faulty (had cracks in light lenses - designs been changed since) no problem with spares.

Got the 14ft tri axle Nugent, had it for 18mths.

Strongly built but lacked the finishing touch in fabrication. The cut edges of the aluminum sheet have not been smoothed off and are very sharp. Easily fixed with a piece of emery paper which I promise to do every time I have cut myself!
Another small niggle is it is only fabricated to take the sheep deck gates at one point unlike my old 26yr old Ifor which was every 2ft. The cattle gate is drilled for every 2ft.

All things considered not disappointed so far.

We bought a second hand 12ft Nugent from a dealer 12 months ago, wheels on outside with decks. Really pleased with it, stock load and travel well in it mainly due to the fold down flaps at the front.

I was the first round here to have a Nugent it's a 14 foot with decks. Since then everyone locally who has seen it or borrowed it has changed to a Nugent.

Dave Roberts has a Nugent, if you want to speak to someone that has one.

It certainly looks like a well built trailer, certainly more so than an IW rattlebox.👍

I have 1 Emyr, had it since 2017, very nice trailer and everyone that see’s it comments on how much better it looks than an ifor but I don’t go many places apart from my own area. JE Rees would be best agents, havnt had to phone them about anything with it but considering a 14ft triple soon, pop down if you want for a look 🤷‍♂️

I have this for sale if you are interested, we've had since new and it's done very little work c/w decks and dividers approx year 2005, never had cattle in it
