Hello, I am needing to pump a small amount (a few 1000 litres per hour max.) of water periodically to assist with a drain jetting job. My submersible pump will be ideal for this job. It is rated at 0.48kw which I believe is 480watts per hour. Can I run an inverter from the jetting tractor and via an extension cable the submersible pump as and when I need to?, I have no experience of these inverters, so any advice or experiences of doing this will be most appreciated. Otherwise I will have to hire in a water pump which will stand idle for most of the time.
Many thanks,
Phil

getting the motor started with an inverter is the problem. I've never tried it but I suspect it could take a very large invertor to start your submersible pump running.
Why not use a 12v pump and no need for an inverter? or a PTO driven pump?

Shouldn’t be a problem. Get a 2kw inverter and cable the DC side directly to the battery with as short leads as possible. Use a decent gauge cable as the current draw @ 12v will be chunky and an in-line fuse.

Keep the tractor on tickover while you’re running the pump, so you don’t drain the battery too much and can’t start the tractor again.
