135 fuel cut off

do the simple things first, open/remove bleed valve on injector pump and operate the lift pump.
expect powerful jets then no need to assume problems in the line from tank to after the lift pump and through the inlet filter of the inj. pump.
from then on, the pressure is provided by the transfer pump inside the inj. pump. This is driven by the engine and feeds the high pressure injection head. This can be seen only by loosening an injector or seeing smoke. That's my knowledge exhausted!

I had the surging then stopping issue on mine. had a new lift pump (or three) and the injector pump rebuilt chasing the fault. Cleaned the tank out 2 or 3 times due to crap in it, cleaned all the gauzes etc. There is a small gauze above the tap in the tank, blow back up the flexible pipe from the tank to the lift pump if it stops as that will shift some crap and allow some fuel to go through that filter. Then check for air getting in around the lift pump pipes, they strip very very easily as it is only soft aluminium, so use plenty of thread sealing tape. Id reccomend an injector pump rebuild if she's never had one and isnt running the best, 300 quid but did a world of good.

Thanks everyone,Job done
I drained the tank through the old tap, then removed it.
The gauze had gone and the port was slightly choked.
New tap fitted.
I changed the filters The glass one was full of water
The drain screw was stuck so I left it alone rather than breaking it.
Just got all seal surfaces scrupulously clean.
Not such a faff as I was anticipating with a cab in the way.
The bleeding wasn't the horror story ball ache I'd read about either (or I just got lucky... )
A bit of working the lift pump and the filters were full.
The injector pump must have been already charged as the screws squirted fuel immediately.
Fired up,faltered for a few seconds then all good.
The slight surging has gone, hold revs steady
Left it running at speed for 20 mins no issues Brilliant

well done. if it comes back check that filter again, try blowing up the pipe and seeing if that fixes anything. Also make sure to check that flexi line and where it goes into the lift pump.
