14 tonne excavator hire rate?

Just bought the adjoining 30 acres to my smallholding and need a 14 tonne excavator to remove tree roots and soil adjoing my property and integrate the entrance etc..

Can anyone give me rough costs per hour for a 14 tonne excavator including operator and fuel ect. (probably several days work)

Also what would be a reasonable price for a tractor, dump trailer and driver to cart away (no road work)

Just trying to get some idea of fair prices for this type of work.

Thanks in advance.

If you are able to drive it yourself Morris Lesley Ltd hire a nearly new 13 ton excavator for around £450 a week but you have to arrange insurance whilst you have it.

Thanks but I need an idea of inclusive prices with operator - whilst I'm happy to play around on a mini digger an experienced operator would get things done in a fraction of the time it would take me.

I’m £44/hr with a 14t machine, plus delivery/collection.
That's bang on what it should be with a decent operator imo.
13 ton and driver inclusive will be £28 - £38 per hour here and £50 for a shift if not a silly distance. Tractor and dumper £35 per hour 150-200hp and 15 ton.

Wouldn't bother hiring out a tractor and dump trailer for £35. Yes you could run one for that, but why would you bother doing anything without a reasonable margin? Who pays for punctures, breakdowns, trailer damage etc. and who pays the fine for draying stone on red when it turns out not to be "agricultural" in the eyes of the tax man

Only quoting what men charge here. There are more expensive ones and cheaper ones. Haven't you ever wondered why any big civil or muck shifting jobs in England always have Irish companies involved? We've been doing your work for centuries. I have never seen a mainland based digger on this Island.

have to say ive never seen an irish digger in england  maybe theres more further north

big muckshifting jobs wouldnt entertain running tractors and dump trailers as they cost so much more per ton than 8 wheelers. rough ground or smaller jobs maybe, if they cant get an ADT for whatever reason.

Plenty of operators will be in subbed under other names, the big ones will buy diggers in UK work them for the contract and sell them again over there too.
