Well space came in my workshops and I decided it was time the old Cat was dragged out of the store and took it's turn. Well once it was out in the bright light reality set in, it had spent years out in a Lincolnshire field so the main engine was full of water, even the exhaust manifold fell into bits as rotted. 3 cylinders corroded solid. I had rebuilt the donkey engine with new rings, overhauled starter motor and professionally restored mag a year or so ago. The tracks are tired as are sprockets. I always thought I would restore it but now I look at it and think it needs a younger man or a donor engine/tractor to make it economic/ worthwhile. So the choices are scrap man, break it for parts or stick it on the bank by the farm gates as a guardian! The tinwork is solid and a full set of instruments.

Could be right! It would be the easiest route.

Not a fan of ebay though as a company, for their tactics. I would rather not add to their profits. It may just moulder away in the shed for a bit longer. Grandsons can decide!

Just finished this one for a friend, I rebuilt in the late 70's for him. He unfortunately froze the cylinder and burst a piece out. Crank air seal had gone on one side, one main bearing and crank oil seals etc etc. It became more of a job. The warranty had expired luckily.
