1964 cine film of Essex gravel pit

Not agricultural but some possibly might find this interesting for the period equipment. It was filmed by my late Uncle.

Brilliant film, love old footage like this, so easy today with camera phones, but took real dedication to use actual film and a cine camera back then. Not a hi vis or hard hat in sight.
I think so much of todays phone footage and photos will be lost in the future in our 'throw away' world.

Dad sold the pit soon after the film was shot, ran of material to dig. The man levelling off on the 6 Wheeler carried on driving a tipper for Dad, I spent hours with Norman on various tippers. When we got to a pit I would clamber into the back to level off the load (material sold by volume until the 70s). If I was not doing that I would wander around the plant. No Hi Vis, No site induction and definitely under age. Brought up to be aware of moving plant and machinery.
