Yes, but here in 2012 it broke on 29 Mar and rained pretty much every day until mid August, and most days there after until October. After that it wasn't so bad.
not here it didn't, not sure of the dates but we made some good early silage before it got wet, had one field left and that was a load of rubbish, finished contract first cut end of aug

The shitty weather in 12 all came from the east, the west coast was ok. it started with snow on april 3rd
we got 4 inches of rain on july 2nd which killed off the harvest

Not quite , the rain hit us here on the West Coast too. June not great , July went downhill. I went to Perth Show in the first week in August and it was almost the only decent day of the Summer.

The 2012 Royal Highland was the year that some of the sheep lines were flooding on the Thursday with three more days to go. It was cold and wet and I remember the disastrous barley fields between Stirling and Ingliston drowned out with the nonstop rain.

Wasn't it 2012 that the far North West Coast got a good Summer? Sadly it didn't reach down to us.

I made some two day hay in 2012, cut one day baled the next, not sure of the date as I have not got my diary here most likely July, the only two days we could have done it

We made some two day once, cut Sunday baled Tuesday, all except the hedge side row which we left and never did get:(

The two day hay was like tobacco in the winter , dark dark brown , cows loved it but did not milk on it:banghead: Never again.

Thank god for the devil's turds that are available now(y)

!976,great for music, bad otherwise......I was doing about 11 "o" levels throughout the heatwave. Those of us doing exams were in the main school hall wearing literally only shorts,(our socks had long since sweated off),it was a boys only school before anyone gets too excited, and sticking to the desks, seats and papers. The worst of it was we could hear the rest of the school gallivanting in the schools swimming pool which was right next to the exam hall.Wish I was 15 again.

There was only one kid in our whole school who admitted to liking Abba, (not including ogleing the girls :) ) and he was endlessly ribbed, but everyone knew all their songs, and watching them on TV the other night, they were certainly polished to perfection. I remember it all got a bit cringeworthy towards the end though when they were splitting up.
A bit like the '60s, I think the legend has been built up since for marketing purposes.
