1983 MF265 steering is loose

I checked it out and the gear box is turning and the hydraulic cylinder in front of tractor is turning but drag link and wheels are not.So its something on front end.
Look at the Steering Cylinder behind the front grill. There will probably be a little valve mounted on top of it which is operated by the drag link via a bell crank & a small turnbuckle. The turnbuckle is secured at each end (to the Valve & Bell Crank) by clevis pins. The pins & their holes wear, introducing play in what's effectively the steering's control system. Check for wear here ..... If present, drill the holes in both the clevises & the turnbuckle ends SLIGHTLY oversize & fit larger diameter clevis pins. Then look for the next location for wear ...... As mentioned above, it'll probably be the bushes on the main (vertical) steering shaft in the front casting.

I finally got around to checking it out.The cylinder in front of tractor is turning when steering wheel turns so its got slack in the front.I have fractured ribs so i can't hardly get under it yet..

It's the cylinder which moves the steering linkage & turns the wheels. Turning the steering wheel moves the valve on top of the cylinder; this then directs oil flow into the cylinder which then moves until the (piggy-back) valve is moved back to neutral position. This is Power-Assisted Steering. There has to be a small (precise) amount of slack in it for it to work properly. You would need a workshop manual to set it up properly. Perhaps in your current condition it might be wise to get a Workshop to do the repair for you?
