I thought that the ranger was the first claas coloured telehandler.
Who made this and is it any good?

out of interest if one had the choice twixt a sanderson or manitou of the same age/similar condition . ..which would be the better buy?

Manitou or JCB every time over an old 1130 sanderson. only sandersons worth buying are the 623, 624, 726 manual 4 speed versions but even then they are all very old and knackered and certain parts are becoming a major issue now.

Some manitou models i would avoid are

ALL of the OLD MB type masted machines upto early 90s.

OLD MSI masted models from the 90s

All BT or buggiescopic models BT 420 BT 425 for example

MLT 626 series 1 and 2

MLT 1337 and 1637 from the mid to late 90s (later 00's ones better)

Its an old sanderson 1130 or 1140.

1130 had ford engine and borg warner T72 shuttle, massively under powered slug of a thing.
1140 had perkins engine with an odd ball powershift gearbox, still under powered!

Later on came the sanderson 1335 which is a rare beast, not many was made, very similar to the 1140 just a bit updated and had legs on it.

something wrong with the booms there, there not synchronised quite right, they should extend together at the same time/speed. If they get too far out of sync they will damage the hose tray on the side of the boom.

Honestly not really in the market but openingbid €1000 it seems like it is impossible to loose money, even when you drive it straight to the scrapman.

looking at the pics it is a 1140 as its perkins engine and got the 3 speed shifts, kind of manually operated powershift rather than a electric shift. The forward reverse was electric though.

Its really only any good for breaking/parts but is there really a viable market for breaking that model anymore? i doubt it.

The money for breaking it would be in the axles, them axles was used on all the 1130, 1140 and the 1335 models PLUS a very similar version of it was used on the matbro TS350. Trouble is not many of any of them models in regular use anymore so would have to sit on the parts for quite some time till a buyer was found.
