1996 jcb 526 getting diesel into engine oil?

Had a problem with the 1210 brown as well once, my own fault though. The spring had broken on ignition switch and I forgot to turn it back far enough so it was heating until lunchtime :oops: Oil must have been very thin because it needed crankshaft not long after
same happened on a 530-70 here heater on and diesel on thermo start smoking like a barsteward and rattling bad just 12 quid to fix ,not often its the cheapest option

Just pull the heater plug out, see if it drips when running, leave connected?
When you take the front plate off the timing cover, you may well see where the diesel is coming in from the pump, ask a diesel shop about the seal. If you google Perkins 1004 injector pump the front image will show the seal. See if its on the inside or outside.
Is the engine running well apart from the diesel in the sump?
