2 Drum Mower Conditioner

Don't want to be negative, but I'd steer well clear especially if you are cutting heavy old leys or permanent pasture. The crop flow from a 2 drum mower feeds all grass to the centre of a conditioner and there is never enough room!

Thanks Martin, your probably right, thinking of it.

I dont know what to get though, a 8ft mounted mo/co would not really suit what I want, a trailed one is out of the question!

Suggestion; a 2 drum mower and find yourself a good used 4 or 6 rotor Tedder. You’ll probably end up with the same DM silage or hay this way as a moco.

Exactly the same here. I ended up in low 2nd with a Ford 4610 a time or two in heavy first cut but very rare to drop below high 2nd (6th) without the conditioner. I got quite quick with the spool valve to take the tension off the belts otherwise the momentum of the mower would wreck the belts even after you had knocked the PTO out.

Hi, I'm looking at buying one of these on their own, it's just the conditioner without the mower, would be run on just a pin hitch. Would they be any good their own? Would they still clog up when theyre not directly attached to the mower?

It's the TK 165 Conditioner that goes on the pz 165
