Yes Grammer….wants a bit of time spent on it….can’t manage without at the moment….What make of seat?
If it’s a Grammer seat they are good to get parts from!
Thanks for that….to be fair £1300 isn’t too bad in the grand scheme of things…Price up the parts. Pipes & joiners are not much more than pence. If its the catch that adjust the backrest its 30 quid ish for the toothed bit, similar for the lever & shaft (but shouldn’t need that bit). Rollers, shocks etc is the bit that can add up plus the time to do it. Kramp do most bits & are handy to give an idea of prices.
Just bought a grammer MSG95AL/741 for a 15k hour ‘04 jd 6920 for £1300 (heated, forward/backwards & side to side movement plus thicker cushion version), compressor was gone on the old one, pipes leaked & everything was a bit worn & not as smooth as it should be. I don’t like spending any money I really don’t have to but I don’t regret it.
I don’t really think they’re any more than that now. Sometimes you’ll see them less on offer. Certainly good value if the top half is in good order. Hardly worth messing around refurbing a high hour base unless its just pipes.Replaced the seat base in my Fendt 818, was fairly tired with 16000 hours. Not worth the time replacing bushes etc, everything gets worn up. Speak to Thomas Scott seating very helpful bunch, I just quoted the serial number on the seat base. Also worth replacing the sliding runners. Brought the base a few years ago at £625 exc VAT. Certainly makes a difference once changed! Straightforward to swap. I lifted the seat up via ratchet through the cab roof enough to get at the bolts to remove the base from the seat and the floor.
