2010 JS130

Hi all,

Looking for a decent 360 and they seem to be a bit thin on the ground for a tidy 5-6k hrs machine, have found a 2010 js130- i know the JCB's are a bit marmite but whats the views on this age/model as i have a feeling i heard that some ages were prone to engine problems?

The other contender is an 06 Newholland (Kobelco) 135, but its a limited tailswing model and no blade so fear it could be a bit unstable.
Thanks

Those are the ones that boil and need new head gaskets I beleive, was warned away from them, I beleive you have to have a 12 machine to get the jcb engine, which was very loud by comparison. Have the same Isuzu engine in a case now with no problems, obviously something to do with the set up.

My advise would be find a a hitachi zaxis 130 to try, had an 03 with 14000 on it and never changed a hydraulic pipe or tightened a bolt, absolute pleasure to drive and the controls are more precise than any new machine I have tried. Gutted not to have another but couldn't convince the accountants to spend the extra money.

All the jcbs had the mods. There was a batch in 2012 that were naughty on the first jcb engine but if it has the Isuzu I would get it bought.

I drive a kobelco 135esr on a 2007 plate. Grate machine. Would track up a house side. It can pick up 4.5 tonne. This is zero swing on and it is a lot handier than a js. It can out dig a js no worries. Js gives up where this just keeps pulling. Easy to grease, nice to be in all day. Good all round machine! Would Defo have a second one. It's abit light when you get lifting a 4' bucket full at full reach but if you are decent on them it's just a case of knowing how to drive it.
