Hello, I have recently purchased a 2013 Freelander 2 and just changed the engine oil.

When I got under the car to remove the oil filter, I couldn't get any leverage to spin the cartridge off. It is crammed in there!!

Is there a way to remove this engine filter cartridge off easily?

Thanks in advance.

The engine's don't normally last that long to warrant a change of oil, it's easier to drop the engine out and do the timing chain at the same time , but I'm guessing you haven't got the ingenium engine so you might be lucky..

The 2.2 dw12 engine in the FL2 is not at all related to the 2.2 transit / defender engine.

Is this engine a Peugeot? If its like the one in my 508 you can get a special spanner from Amazon/ebay which the dealers use. looks like this
