It's a shame you didnt put a little more work into promoting you products in the run up to the seed order forms being sent out. I would have tried some epd2 and with the beet job how it is every saving is worth having but until the order form dropped on my mat I'd never heard of it or was even aware that kws did a seed priming and I wasnt sure about committing to something i have absolutely no idea about, hence i stuck with what i know enrich 100.
Hi Robbie,

We know we're a little late in our communications. However we didn't want to talk about the pelleted new seed until we knew growers definitely had the choice of using it.

We've had quite a bit of EPD and EPD2.0 out on farm in the last few years. We're sorry we weren't able to offer this to everyone.

If you would like to chat to one of our team directly please get in touch with us via this email [email protected]

Form arrived this morning !
Had an interesting chat with a kws rep also so they have the bulk of my seed requirements. I have ordered some Germain's seed too. It will be interesting to see both types next to each other in the field. If of course I get the varieties I've ordered.

It's a shame I didnt know more about the epd as I'd have gave it a whirl. I dont dare alter my order otherwise theres no telling what I'll end up with..... that's assuming that I will get my chosen varieties to start with.[emoji848]

The KWS man was confident I would get the epd seed dressing.

If I find/ see an obvious difference between the dressings next spring you will be most welcome to come and see it for yourself.
I suspect there will be little difference.

Thanks, keep us posted please.

Does anyone know the actual reason last years seed orders were a cock up???

3 loads went yesterday first one 20.9 tare and 15.87 sugar
Third load 4.3 tare and 16.37 sugar.
Surprise surprise the second load was not sampled so the first load carried over for the second, the sceptic in me could maybe think it's a little bit too much of a coincidence surely bs wouldn't make it work in there favour????

Beet are going to be a waste of time this year I think.

Just had a call to be told that out of the 3 varieties of seed I had ordered for next season, all 3 have sold out. So therefore i have to choose varieties which I am not that keen on. That makes for a good start to next seasons crop.
Varieties sold out are Vixen, Conger, BTS4100, KWS Kortessa and Advena.
Rant over!!

That's what happened to me last year and exactly why the seed business of beet growing needs to be opened up away from the bs monopoly
If your kws kortessa was ordered with the kws dressing on then I suggest contacting a kws rep. They may be able to source some outside of bs control.

I wonder if other countries buy the seed first and British sugar buy the left overs cheaper to sell to us growers which is why they run out of the better varieties??
