Volunteer Funky now coming into ear in low-N oats.

Useful early indicator of big soil moisture deficit.

Bit too soon to tell if it's actually 6-row Funky or 2-row Funky.

Will confirm Monday.

Why when you can sell forward or insure with stable for more ?

Because for 55 years or so we've had a strategy to sell 1/3 forward, 1/3 when we know what we've got after harvest, and 1/3 in the Spring when we know what we've got left.

Strangely enough, year on year this has often been one of the HGCA's best published scenarios.

To trade more now would not be consistent with our often winning strategy.

So, I'm budgeting for £130 but hoping for £160.

Could do with a new combine.

Why not use insurance then instead of selling any more forward - nett of premium it would get you more than your budgeted £130 ?
