no, i never use tms or pedal mode
no, i never use tms or pedal mode
Driving without Tms kinda makes the Vario look bad and beats the purpose they were built for.Foot throttle or hand throttle for revs, joystick to alter vario position.
Did a day corn cart on a non tms 716 for someone this harvest, after being used to tms for 15 years - felt completely weird, and a lot more work to get it to drive any sense, constantly listening to engine note. Fuel saving alone with TMS on will be noticeable for sure.
Oh well I’m glad I’m not the only one.the first fendt i had was a 2003 716 and it had no tms so i guess i just got used to that way of driving.
maybe it is, but i am just in the habbit of using the foot pedal as a foot throttle and just tip the the joystick into cruiseMay we ask why? Is it not a very numb, slow and laborious driving experience with them shut off?
Same here, heavy load behind I’d rather be in stick mode and use the cruise control and foot thottle.Oh well I’m glad I’m not the only one.
when I’m empty I use TMS but when loaded I use stick mode seem to have much more control over the tractor in stick mode.
I started with a early none TMS 716 now have a 2019 720 it’s not startling but seem ok for power
If doing draught work like ploughin would it not be better to use in stick mode?Far kinder on vario box using it in TMS and peddle mode, as well as tractor brakes. Can be the difference between replacing and not having to replace one, so my tech told me.
Yes, but you still have tms switched on.If doing draught work like ploughin would it not be better to use in stick mode?
I only use the stick to change direction, I’ve never used it to change speed (ever). If doing draught work like ploughin would it not be better to use in stick mode?

When not in field work I just use pedal and the shuttle.
What would be the best method for ploughing? I currently have TMS on, pedal mode for speed and use stick to change direction and engage cruise control.
Only a 516 here but would prefer if it would pull the 5f reversible and heavy trailed press a bit faster at timesThe beauty of a vario transmission is you can do what you like. Personally if I’m ploughing for a day the only pedal that gets touched is the clutch to turn it on. I would have TMS on and use the stick to change speed and direction. If your happy with your setup crack on and don’t worry.
You even get another option on a gen 6 with direction changes on the little joystick
Bg
Completely disagree, vario is constantly changing ratios in tms and the engine is either full throttle or off, much kinder in stick mode & no one needs to be hard on brakes in a Fendt.Far kinder on vario box using it in TMS and peddle mode, as well as tractor brakes. Can be the difference between replacing and not having to replace one, so my tech told me.
Can only repeat what has been said from a very good tech and have a few more hours than that on varios..Completely disagree, vario is constantly changing ratios in tms and the engine is either full throttle or off, much kinder in stick mode & no one needs to be hard on brakes in a Fendt.
Sold my 716 on original vario & brakes at 14000hrs all I do is drag heavy trailers around.
Not going to make a difference with what the OP is dealing with...Maybe get yourself accustomed with Tms, makes a big difference in overall use.
hi. just wondering if anyone has experience of a 2020 fendt being a little lazy? its has plenty of power on hills and in field but it just doesnt have the getup and go of my last 720 a 2016 model. it feels almost like the turbo isnt kicking in on time or something. maybe its all in my head but i just find that i have to rev it up flat out to get it up and going.
Yes, but i meant it'd be generally good to use TMS.Not going to make a difference with what the OP is dealing with...
We had 2 tractors that were extremely slow on startup ,regardless of what modes or settings were applied.
Was software problem
On a Fendt do u have to select pedal or stick like it was/perhaps still is on MF?
