Those modern transit tdci 2.2’s are total garbage! Cracked pistons, oil pumps that don’t last, stretched timing chains/slipped camshafts,crap injectors’ the only good diesel engine Ford have made & fitted in a tranny that could exceed 200k untouched was the old 2.5DI. Those engines would literally run for ever plus stand neglect/abuse,however it wouldn’t be producing anywhere near the power of today’s common rail’s to be fair. It’s just a shame the vans it was fitted in crumbled like old bake bean tins left in a salt bunkerThey already do. It's the same engine in a transit. Odd ones fall by the wayside, but a lot of Transits rack up big milage, loaded to the gunnals, often towing, whilst driven by uncaring Neanderthals.
