Any pottinger machine I’ve owned were piles of sh1t and mad dear to repair compares to other makes so definitely won’t ever consider anything from them again.
The current Pottinger range is completely different from what it used to be. I've used their older mowers and rakes and didn't like them but if I was buying a rake today it would definitely be a Pottinger.

Thanks. Has it done much work?
In my opinion from experience of owning Kuhn 6501 and 7501 rakes they are a farmers machine , their cam track design and the crank arms on the end of the tine arms are made of chocolate , they can’t handle big acres , now buy one if you want but I’m telling you to be ready with the socket set to rip it open as I had to several times , I also had to pay another contractor to rake hundreds of acres for me while the Kuhn was waiting for parts. I did my homework on the new pottinger rakes and they are now in a differant league of build quality.

I know that’s your opinion but I don’t value your opinion whatsoever as I’ve seen a lot of your posts are bashing machines because you don’t own them and unless it’s valtra or pottinger or erth seeder it’s no good For anything!!!

How wrong you are , I owned Kuhn rakes can you not read and they cost me a fortune in parts and hire . So go and buy one and find out for your self.

No , it has a handle for winding it up and down, I had two Kuhn rakes , the 6501 was better than the 7501 , the 6501 worked great until about 5000 acres then it broke can bear ing crank arms and its can track, a few hours work and a lot of money to fix it, so traded it for the 7501 and it started breaking cam tracks and bearing crank arms with not a lot of work done, it was a rake I never liked as it always missed bits of grass , so I traded it in for a pottinger 762c, and that’s problem solved , different league of a rake, does far better work and can go faster while doing perfect work, the Kuhn would not be anywhere near as good a rake.

Could've sworn when I looked at a 6501 years ago you had to lift the rotors to adjust them from underneath. Must be changed on the newer ones.

i have to agree with you ,pottinger mowers just fall asunder and as for their wagons with their small floor chains and paper thin steel ,you couldn raffle a pottinger wagon around here now

Pottinger wagons don’t give floor chain trouble , I’ve 5400 loads on a wagon and never broke a chain. But I know plenty of other brands of wagons that have had gearbox’s and shirts replaced . Pottinger are the number one selling wagon for good reason.

Just an update ended up buying a Massey Ferguson (fella) twin rotor rake will be delivered next Monday. Does anyone on hear run one? Any tips for setting it up?
Best of luck with the new rake , to set it up adjust it up off the ground and keep letting it down until it is just cleaning the ground of grass , at that stage the tines should not be marking the ground .

You couldn't give away a euro profi they are so light the rotor fingers and comb are like paper the knife bank is so light and any lad with a pottinger mower is trying to trade them in for a different make but no one will take them,I have no experience of the takes as they were sold in v small numbers

Euro profi are a light farmers machine , don’t go saying like pottinger wagons are the same , I’ve seen every wagon working and giving trouble and the pottinger jumbo are an unbelievable reliable machine , built like a tank.

I thought there was two spec levels.

Some companies do that.

Lely did it with Classic range. Lightweight farmer range. Heel mounted bed rather than mid mounted.
