21’ plate navara dpf issues

Drive it for 20 to 30 minutes at 2500rpm/3000rpm to generate the heat required to do a burn off, make sure you have plenty fuel in tank as some vehicles won’t do a burn off if below 1/4 of a tank. This doesn’t mean driving at 100mph, you can achieve the same by waiting in 3rd gear at 40/50mph

I got my in June 21 and it’s been back 3 times, last time they picked up a faulty nox sensor and have replaced it so fingers crossed, I did drive for 30mins in 3 gear when dpf came on last time and it didn’t clear it I just used half a tank of fuel on pointless journey!

Anyone had the same? Dpf clogging up partly due to not enough long journeys? Seems to be more than just ours struggling has anyone had similar and how did you solve it? Thanks
Do you have a OBDII reader? There is app call Torque Pro. Combined with a OBDII reader you can do a forced regen or a immediate regen on the next key cycle. All can be done while the vehicle is in park.

But I would agree with the short mileage the vehicle is driven and as a result, it does not get hot enough to burn off the dpf. I used to have the same problem on a different diesel truck than yours until I got the app and the OBDII reader.

I’d be more concerned with it using 35ltrs of fuel in 30 minutes than it not doing a regen! some vehicles won’t do a burn off, if engine management light is on also. 👍

Had the same issue with an Isuzu Dmax, tried additives and giving it a blow out, but not a long term solution for me.
Removed the inners of the dpf and remapped.
Be good so far.

My mate had a 17plate that needed a new engine within warranty. He then traded it in for a new one and then sold it back to nissan after 3ish months of warning lights . On a D max now.

19 plate here. 64000 miles. No problem with dpf yet, but it did have to have a new adblue system last month.
It’s also had a new reversing camera when that stopped working.
All on warranty.

will swap before warranty ends if I can get a new truck!

All these emission control add-ons (EGR, DPF, AddBlue) are purely Hi(low)Tech - stop gap measures until proper clean power units are developed and readily available. The current leader on that score is battery tech with its obvious shortcomings for commercial use and the next stage seems to be hydrogen power either as a fuel for an ICE or as a mobile electricity source.
Until then we just have to continue with semi-reliable Heath Robinson devices.

My first DPF issues came with a Skoda Octavia 2 litre ex ambulance service car at around 55,000 miles just after towing a caravan to Austria and back without hanging about …Tried a “Terraclean” twice, then the Italian tune up (3 times) then with a DPF accelerator fuel additive but nothing worked for more than a few weeks/ days.
Since then we have had a couple of EGR issues on vans at 120,000 and 280,000 respectively both initially cleared with an EGR spray in cleaner as recommended by a practical RAC man and subsequent replacement.

Hi. This is a common warranty fault with the latest Navara. It has nothing to do with driving style. Nissan are fully aware of the issue, but whether they can fix it is something else. Make sure any work is paid for by Nissan under your warranty. I've just been through the exact same problem with Nissan UK.

I have a 17 plate Navara and no issues, can't say it gets driven very hard really. I spend most of my journeys seeing how high I can get the mpg. (68mpg is winning so far)
my son did a service on one yesterday, 2.0lt he thought. seemingly the oil filter is rather awkward to access. that is the polite version.

Ive got a 21 plate bought from new and it has just been back to the dealers 16 times with blocked dpf. Had a Nissan 'fix' last July but thats made it worse. The dealer and Nissan have always maintained that the Navara was never built for short journeys. I cant wait for someone to challenge them. Biggest issue will be when the warranty runs out and owners get a bill each time to fix it.

Mate has a 21 plate one. It’s now been back to dealer 17 times…. Yes 17……
Mines been back 16. dealer and Nissan just maintain that it was never designed for short journeys. When i asked for documented evidence surprise surprise none forthcoming... I cant wait for someone brave enough to challenge them.
