Have you done many farm business appraisals?
Probably more than you have
I bet my Dad could have beaten your Dad.
At least if you had one.

If you were the breeder there's a good chance you'd be ignoring it because you'd know people realise what goes on in a lot of these cases. If I was the breeder of this animal and had enjoyed the last couple of days Thursday/Friday if I then read this I would just be putting a lot down to jealousy
About 235 grandWhat a load of shite. Wonder how much luck money was involved
That reply shows how weak you must be I will leave it thereI bet my Dad could have beaten your Dad.

I think the point is it is an extremely good heifer and if you want it you only have 3 options breed one (not that easy) buy one or do without. Then if there’s 2 people that want it!Anyone there for the sale? Was the heifer 10x the animal to the 2nd priced heifer?
For all we know she could have made less than the 2nd price.Anyone there for the sale? Was the heifer 10x the animal to the 2nd priced heifer?

My money is on the latterEither that, or arrange to buy one before the sale, then put it through for the razzamatazz and publicity....
Well there is a possibility which I couldn’t comment on.Either that, or arrange to buy one before the sale, then put it through for the razzamatazz and publicity....

It's as cheap to say a high number as it is a low one.
Plus if you think about the price of a new scania v 8 with a walking floor trailer it isn’t that much reallyYeh I get that, and having 2 consortiums/partnerships bidding against each other just runs away. Less risk each plus the financial might
That's the whole problem with the system isn't it. Nobody knows if it's real or not
I see he didn’t split the last bid at the fall of the hammer like they seam to do with the store Cattle now.£240,000 wasn’t an option James jumped last bid 20k ha
I say it no matter how rich I was or how many lorries I owned/leased I still wouldn't pay quarter of a mil for a fat bad legged heifer.Plus if you think about the price of a new scania v 8 with a walking floor trailer it isn’t that much really
What’s the dearest Simmental heifer you know of?I say it no matter how rich I was or how many lorries I owned/leased I still wouldn't pay quarter of a mil for a fat bad legged heifer.
Myself, I wouldn"t, regardless of how much money I had pay a quarter of million for a fat GOOD legged heifer!I say it no matter how rich I was or how many lorries I owned/leased I still wouldn't pay quarter of a mil for a fat bad legged heifer.

Wonder what fat cattle and lambs were worth back then and what they should be worth now?Maybe this gives a sense of scale of the prices paid in the past (the inflation price is the gns in today’s money) View attachment 937647BView attachment 937648
