its just i know where there is a 7040 for sale and could it be turned upNot much
I think the hoos is right. Maybe some of the finishing parts in the engine, but looks to be mostly just a tuning differenceits just i know where there is a 7040 for sale and could it be turned up
You do have a valid point if contracting with older gear and you have a breakdown it looks bad as the kit is deemed to be old but in reality we have more downtime with newer stuff than older gear if I,m honest and the older gear is generally easier sorted but it’s an image thing the new gear customers will happily pay more for new gear to come in the gate forgetting that the driver is 100 times more important than shiny paintSomething in that price range will be a fair age or have a million hours, so it's going to have some issues. If you're on a time critical job like silage and it's the only thing you have that can pull the wagon, can you handle downtime, especially if contracting?
Always a chance of a major failure such as an engine or transmission as well.
They all break down
But shiny paint is all that matters nowYou do have a valid point if contracting with older gear and you have a breakdown it looks bad as the kit is deemed to be old but in reality we have more downtime with newer stuff than older gear if I,m honest and the older gear is generally easier sorted but it’s an image thing the new gear customers will happily pay more for new gear to come in the gate forgetting that the driver is 100 times more important than shiny paint
a nh 7040 50 60 would be well within my budgetI know it's easy spending someone else's money but personally I think a Magnum in this application is the wrong one.
Even twenty years ago they were outdated, that's not necessarily a bad thing as their torque and grip was awesome - for tillage.
Your big wagon will be wasted without 50k, modern transmission, modern hydraulics and suspension.
Id definitely have a 7040/50/60 over a Magnum in this instance, and I say this as a non NH owner and someone who drooled over the big 8.3 Cummins powered case 30 years ago.
Not been mentioned yet. But what about a 8250 or 8310 fastrac?
Comfortable, fast, agco vario gearbox. Good hydraulics. Be nice on a wagon I would imagine. And within budget.
i doubt itWill they turn within an acre though?
no way ,soft dealer backup not great and if they are anything like their loaders they are worn out at 8000 hrsNot been mentioned yet. But what about a 8250 or 8310 fastrac?
