Alison and her husband are both passionate about the future of family farming in Scotland and have worked in partnership to add value to the farming business. In 2019 they launched Crafty Maltsters Ltd, a pioneering new malting business, processing home grown barley into single origin malt for the brewing and distilling industry.</p><p></p><p><strong>David Eudall</strong>, Head of Market Specialists (Arable), AHDB</p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]890846[/ATTACH]</p><p></p><p></p><p>David studied economics at university before beginning his career as analyst with HGCA prior to moving up to Stoneleigh in 2009 with AHDB. David heads up a team of seven analysts who focus on domestic and international arable markets across cereals, oilseeds and potatoes.</p><p></p><p><strong>Julian Bell</strong>, Senior Rural Business Consultant at SRUC</p><p></p><p><strong>[ATTACH=full]890847[/ATTACH]</strong></p><p></p><p>Julian is a Senior Rural Business Consultant and Team Leader of the Rural Business Unit. Julian delivers consultancy services to farmers, rural businesses, banks, investors, government agencies and other organisations.</p><p></p><p>Current projects include analysis of grain and oilseed markets, economics of bio-fuel and energy crops, carbon management and agricultural investment appraisal. He is also responsible for SRUC business publications as well as undertaking training for farmers in risk management and enterprise benchmarking.</p><p></p><p>Previously, Julian was Senior Economist, Crop Marketing HGCA where he oversaw analysis of UK and global cereal markets and was responsible for managing HGCA's practical farm business development programmes.
