Hi, has anyone had experience with the Grimme CS5400? Does anyone know where there might be a machine available or if a different manufacturer builds a 2 or 3 bed machine?

Not aware of any sold in this country. Do they still make them? Infact. Did they ever go into full production? 🤷

Try George Moate tillerstar. Don't know anything about them, but the do/did do a 3bed version.

Could be any number of things.

Weight and cost for one!
Tractor power required?
Visability?
Road transport?
Working across slopes?

The list of potential issues to get round is long and would take a decent slice of the r+d budget.
Could work well in very large flat fields with no obstacles in them (poles/trees, etc.)

We ran 2 for a few years as evaluation machines, think they were CS5400. Ran them 24/7 on various tractors, firstly class crawlers which wasn’t a success as they wouldn’t go slow enough at the engine rpms needed to run run the pto driven pumps. Fendt 900’s were the best as they had a vario gearbox. Remember using them for onion land at about 8 inches deep and they were fine but for spud land they took some dragging and powering
