With Low pressure over Scotland cloud and rain will spread across much of Scotland, Ireland, western England and Wales. Some of rain will be heavy at times. At the same colder air follows into Ireland and western Scotland and this may turn rain to snow over the hills and later to lower levels in the north so a white Christmas possible in the north . Central and eastern areas of England should be mainly dry, but will be windy. Rain moving in here as the day goes on. Highs of 12C/54F falling to 5C/41F by late afternoon on the south coast.
