Bands of heavy and in places thundery showers in the west from early morning will move east across most areas into the afternoon, giving some very heavy downpours, with local flooding in places Eastern England and the far south-east may escape largely dry till late afternoon. with low pressure across northern Britain Frequent heavy showers over Scotland, Ireland and western areas of England & Wales, at times merging into a longer spell of rain. Fewer Showers more likely over the east, central & southern England, and is where we will see the best of any sunshine another breezy day with south westerly winds, up to gale force High of 22C/73F in the south & east.

A Trough of low pressure will bring showers again for west & northern Britain, Some locally heavy showers or longer periods of rain are likely over western hills. While the Midlands, south & east of England, should just see a few scattered showers, but most places here should stay dry and bright with long sunny spells. Winds light to moderate from the southwest, although gusty at times near the Irish Sea. High of 25C/76F
A brief look ahead to August and the first week is looking unsettled cool and at times windy but present indications are for drier weather in to mid – month with a possible heatwave the last two weeks of the month we will of course keep you updated here and our website metjeffuk.com
