So is anyone managing to put soya through one as a % of a ration mixed with barley/oats. 70/30 etc without problems?
Also are people mixing in minerals or feeding seperate?

I am feeding two batches inside. You need to close the slides up a bit more because they are close to the water, also you need to check that the feeders are not blocked more often. It is all trial and error but getting the hang of them now.

Just noticed the price of the 3800 has gone up £115 since we got ours in September. Just found the invoice for £1375
If we all stop posting about them on here they may start going back down in price;)(y)
Does anyone know roughly how much say an IAE creep feeder is with the sheltered housing?

Thanks spent a good while on their web page but didnt see that table.
I rang up aswell and was recommended a protein balancer instead of soya as the soya will seperate to the bottom so they so they mày not eat at the preferred ratio and also the balancer can come with minerals mixed in.

Not sure how the feeder will handle straight soya for flowing/bridging but by the sounds of its not possible to control intakes below about 300g's/day. So More than needed.

Feed soya / barley / oats / mollasses mix through ours and flows no problem. Only problem may have if you have too much molasses in mix.

Good, Thats what i want to hear, what sort of ratio are your ingredients? More for flow characteristics rather than actual ration formulation.
Do you include minerals?

Currently on about 80/20 corn to soya or thereabouts . Yes minerals in mix too. Only thing need to watch is if the rain blows into where they feed from the soya can go sticky and gum it up a bit but if checked ever couple of days usually fine .

the rain blowing is mentioned a lot as i guess it rains here a lot - so why not just add some side 'cheeks' like out of stokboard or thin ply and maybe a bit of a roof of something to protect the feed face especially in winter early spring

Somebody suggested to me to put something like those drive through curtains that you have for forklifts going into sheds on the front. I thought it was a good idea but haven't got round to trying it yet:facepalm:
It would also help to keep birds out too.

I find keeping the lamb creep guard as low as ppossible does a good job of keeping rain and birds off the food.
