Been waiting well over a year for ####ing Scottish power to install a 3 phase meter.
Currently on single phase.
Other 2 100 a fuses are there, live ready, just need meter.
Amey will b the installer, who are working, i have to go thru s power who i pay my bill too .
What options do i have , can anyone else fit the meter or indeed another supplier ?????
I was getting pee'd off with them 6 months ago, obviously there playing the covid card .
The actual installer amey are working .

We are using Siemens. The local man is really good, but the office and communications leave a lot to be desired. The comms on our meter failed, and were fixed in August, but the data collectors do not seem to be able to pick up the readings despite the comms working OK. It is a frustrating mess. Another case, like the railways, of botched privatisation, splitting the work in crazy ways. Perhaps this should be in the "What grinds your gears" thread!

Having the same issue with EDF. For some reason they are still not making appointments. I have given up as it has been driving me insane. I only need it really for my boiler, and I will just get a converter to go on it to run it off single phase. When everything has calmed down a bit I will try again to get a 3 phase meter installed.

Eon came out and changed our single phase meter for a 3 phase 5 years ago. Fuses 3x100 amp) were in and they charged £85 and took a week to come out from booking. The meter as I understand is the providers so it was dead simple

No problem then.

I have house rental that no supplier will admit to supplying... so nothing is paid, also know of a house that has had free Gas since Centrica was "invented" in the 90's, they really arnt that bothered.
My son lived in a series of flats in Nottingham, these were often converted houses and metering was a huge issue, as it was often the suppliers had a very fazy idea of which meter fed which property.
When he moved out of his last British gas insisted on giving him a £1,000 pound refund, my son had no idea why and was hesitant to accept it.

I understand people getting 'free' utilities is a common thing. Some people have gone years without receiving a bill and since no record of what has been used will exist, no one can legally charge you for it. The detective work involved in finding these consumers and pairing them to a supplier costs more than the profit involved in supplying them so businesses basically don't bother. You may find that it is actually quite difficult to get a provider to accept you as a non-existent customer and begin charging you.

There is a law stopping any utility from charging more than 6 month arrears (estimated of course) if it was a fault of no billing, even applies to farms i found, didnt have to pay any electric for one harvest after they stopped the DD for some reason.

Ah I see, you are talking about people in arrears.

I'm talking about people who have used water or gas or leccy and never had a bill from anyone. Legally no company can bill anyone for this as it 'doesn't exist'.

No you were right first time, those who are not on the billing system, but if they are "found" thats the result, max 6 months, I was on the billing system all the time, they forgot to DD so i got away with a years worth.
