I won't be able to over my whole area, that is a certainty.

Also it depends what you mean. 2lu over a 12 month period, or over a "grazing season"?
Aren't we all talking about 12 month period?
I wonder how much our grazing density can go when I compare the increase which is archived by people applying holistic management tools.

How are you going to manage the crops in this field in the next few years? Are you going to take advantage of this natural fertility and reduce inputs (and if so, by how much) or are you going to continue with the same fertiliser regime as the rest of the farm?

Hi, wondering if you ever got around to completing the original objective here; to compare wheat yields following a low input grass ley? I’m strongly considering Increasing grazing area as a proportion of a farm that has been exclusively combinable crop for 50+ years, with objective to achieve a rotation less reliant on manufactured inputs. Would be great to see an update on this particular field, post ley. One area I’m specifically interested in is how you establish the initial crop post ley. We have been zero till on all our combineables for ten years, but have not established any crops in that time following a grass based ley. Be good to hear of your experience.
