Just be careful testing the injectors, the high pressure diesel can be very dangerous on bare skin as you probably know.
Yes a new thread, might be better ..........
White smoke = unburnt diesel or water

Knocked up a bumper today, got a bit of rollcage tube with a bend in it off my mate.

Knocked up a couple of brackets.

Should do the job nicely protecting the bonnet from tractor-scenery interfaces.

In grey primer till I buy a tin of stoneleigh grey.

Is the bonnet top fiberglass?? Just the seam around the front by the MF emblem looks filled in and very smooth? Sure there is a market for a decent fitting fiberglass bonnet for these as the replacement panels, side and chin are a terrible fit I have found. I had to do a lot of panel beating to get them even somewhere handy on mine and then found that the back bonnet edge was 1/2" away from the dash (and air cleaner hole) so had to weld fresh steel in and move the air cleaner hole rearwards. A right faff but it all fits perfectly now but was an awful lot of work.
And nearly every 35 I have recently looked at always has one side of the lower bonnet edge (at the rear) slightly higher than the lower most part of the dash binnacle. I need to get out more………….!!!!

It's a steel bonnet, will be a pattern part though as the fit isn't that wonderful.

Did Massey do a front sticker rather than enamel badge on latter models, as per the one in this thread? Or is it an aftermarket job?

Gosh that brings back memories,
If you lengthen the side panels it makes the bonnet fit the dash and stops it fouling on the tanks,
We had a batch of bonnets for fe35s a few years ago that were a joke 2"to short not even welded squarely all the manufacturing techniques and they can't replicate something that was made perfect 50 yrs ago

Now that says something

We repair as much panel work as possible now it takes as long to fit new but original is far better

Yes, I used the original bonnet, had a lot of work to get it somewhere handy at the front (it had been biffed) Got reproduction side and chin panels. The side panel upper edge flange is the wrong angle, so when all assembled it pulls the bonnet top section forward. I did think to cut and rework the flanges but instead went for the easier option of welding some steel onto the back of the bonnet and moving the air cleaner hole back, still had plenty of work to do to get the side panels fitting nicely but am happy with it now. I welded excess steel on the back of the bonnet so I could grind it away and get a nice panel gap, which I have now done. A few pics below, thought I'd sort the bonnet before I ripped the rest of the tractor apart. Crank and block back from machinists today and back axle going back in hopefully tomorrow, so coming along!

I dont know but it was all I had as the original ones were well past being salvaged, I could have beaten some up but it's all time!! I had heard that the fit could be suspect but they are a base to work with, maybe I am being too fussy but I like things done right, a little extra effort now pays off later down the line. It would pee me off having to look at a bad panel gap or poor fit every time I got on the tractor once done! I really should get out more!!!!!!

look on the right hand side above the brake pedals near the top of the gearbox, yet just below the steering box, there will be the date of manufacturer stamped into the casting, if it's upside down, then it was made at night shift, right way up then day shift, I will hazard a guess at it being a night shift built one, also, can we have a picture of the dynamo mounting bracket from all angles, they we can tell if it's 35, or 35x
