36ft drawbar bale trailer

How well do artic and dolley trailers turn ? I see they use them a lot in Europe and Pronar are selling bale trailers here now with the front axle and dolley
I am well and truly in the minority here with my two drawbar trailers. All bale trailers around here are turntable trailers, most very basic but 40 k is top speed so not the need for commercial axles or springs. I think they turn in better but my knowledge of them is very limited. One thing you need to remember is that there are very few pick up hitches here so a turntable is easier to hook on their tractors.

What a damage I could do with the tail swing on that thing!

Defiantly need you’re wits about you but it’s unbelievable how well it follows, never come across a gateway that haven’t been able to get into yet

Who makes a 36ft drawbar bale trailer. I don’t want a 5th wheel dolly version. Looking to put on 4 x 8ft hestons long ways and then one cross ways so at 2 high we can get 18 on in total. Can’t go 3 high with a shorter trailer due to bridges.

Over priced, but one here,,,

That’s very over priced, someone is hoping! The Bailey trailer has the axles further forward than that looks to be. They look weird but are much more manoeuvrable.

Keith Rose trailers Kennethmont Aberdeenshire will do a very good bespoke 36ft standard (no extension), will put Foldy side on, lifting axles steering axles etc.

Big waiting list on this kind of stuff at the moment.

Nothing comes near an artic trailer with a converted dolly…
Different matter if you intend to explore very much of Her Majesties Highways.
Steady as a rock and highly manoeuvrable.
Financially a no brainier.

Single axle dollys work well for not pushing your tractor but you lose a lot of carrying capacity. We use a 32 ft with a double under the back and a double dolly works good can bully small tractors with a full load (20 bales of silage) Got 40ft with a single under both ends but you lose a lot of carrying capacity(would not buy a single again) I'm in Australia with no legal requirements for brakes or speed but we only have good operators on the trailers (and stick to back roads).

Steering axles make a huge difference. Feed suppliers can get an artic in where an 8 wheeler could not. It follows a dream but never seen them on a farm trailer (yet)
