What are the positives and negatives of going to 36m booms?

Increased work rates
Less tramlines
Ability to pick better spray days

More weight
Less longevity of the booms
Lower 2nd/3rd hand value
Ability to spread granular fertiliser

If you have moved to 36m would you do it again?

We're still 24, but I can't see too many negatives in going to 36, as above I think 36 will become well sought after on the second hand market (provided they've been driven carefully) Spreading granular fert will be the only slight downside, spreaders will do it but you'll need to pick your days more carefully I'd imagine.

I'm looking at going 36m,and looked at one this morning ,24 at the moment,my spreader could do with updating but at 15k for a gps spreader,I will put that money towards a sprayer and go liquid fert instead.
I've not got massive fields here, and someone told me you you will spend all your time folding and unfolding, but it does depend on what type of boom folding you have.
Lucky for me I haven't got any tree's or too many poles to hit.
I do think auto boom levelling is a necessity and gps auto section control and I will run bigger tyres all year and not bother with row crops.
The only down side is I still run a 4m drill and I'll still have to do a half overlap breed around the headlands, which I was hoping to get away from.

Unless you apply liquid fertiliser or have a granular boom fertiliser spreader don't bother it's more hassle than it's worth!!!!!!

Thanks for replies. I apply liquid fert so a plus there. We also don't apply granular as get all the p&k from muck. Also headlands will be off the drill turning area so think that may be better on headlands.
Looking at changing sprayer and found a very good value 36m which is 5k less than equivalent 24m.
