Theoretical question (for now)

If you already had a disc (750a) and tine (co6 ULD) option both capable of successful zerotill and reached a point where a 3rd drill was needed what would you buy and why ?

Or would you move away from 6m machine behind light (8tish) tractors and go wide ?

If it was low disturbance drilling required, I'd look at which drill was operating at full capacity and get another the same.

Sly Boss drill; you've expressed a like for them and you'd probably get a decent deal being one of the first, plus minimal pimping required.

Or...System Cameleon if the coulter can get enough pressure to go straight into stubble. Not ULD and I don't know about clearance, but imagine the fun you would have.

Yes I do like the look of the sly machine - it’s very like a 750a but “pimped” out the box

Not seen one in action however !

Your trouble is you think small all the time. You need to import one of the new 1895’s and seed cart. Stick on the Guttler’s and row cleaners and you could nip out and drill a county between all your other little projects and pastimes. After all we all know you really want one!

big tractor required so back on that hamster wheel ! plus I don't think they fit down a UK road ?

I recall there is a UK one thats been very well converted to UK transport width though ?

It’s on 20ft on the road. We’ve got a local farmer around here who doesn’t take his 20ft header of his combine and nips up the toad with only one light working so I don’t know what you’re worrying about!

@Halftrack did the conversion, did a very good job.

Yes Stephen Heard of the Half Trac fame imported one and cut and shut it to 8 or 9m not sure and made it fold to 3m which was the difficult bit because as standard they fold to 15ft from memory.

As suggested by others just move from 6m to 8m current tractors would stand it depending on how ambitious you got with hopper capacity's the Horsch id easier to sort than the JD but not beyond you and your crew. Biggest killer becomes transport height if your not careful
