4 day week

I only once worked a 40 hour week decades ago. What a waste of a day.
I would rather do that 40 hours over 4 days or Start early and finish early so that I could do something else. Possible now with Brexit. I went to a job working 4.30am to 6 pm 26 days out of 28. Made plenty of money which is all I wanted.

Accepted. I don’t like the idea of punching in for x days a week if it can be done in less if you pull a decent shift. But some jobs just require those days. Again not a problem if you work less and get paid less and another person does the rest of your job and gets paid for their bit. However the idea of folk getting paid the same but do less because they’d rather not work as much each week is daft.

The new min wage you need to pay in the next 12 months will be just shy of £15/hr. The plus side of this is there is no need to pay any universal benefit and these people will pay tax and Ni so will be contributors rather than a drag on the economy. What has to happen is the civil servants need to wake up and get a brain cell and send these wasters to pick veg fruit or flowers. If they lie in the hedge tossing or dragging weed then they starve.
It is the ultimate carrot, stick and donkey for the unemployed. Then we can send the unused civil servants to join them.

I've decided to get a hgv license, already been offered jobs for far more than I'm getting milking cows
This is the problem, skilled cowman drives lorry, dairy goes down, eventually shortage of milk, so price rises exponentially as then does dairymans' wages. That is capitalism. Pain and joy never far away. Up till now we have been running the wrong type of capitalism. Theory is wealth trickles down to the masses. Unfortunately that woke view forgets that 99% of humans are intensely greedy and selfish so sweet FA trickles down. We are now back to the 70's and labour will be rewarded. Lots of pain and grief in the middle but for the plebs fantastic result. That is why they voted Brexit even if at the time they didn't know why other than racism. Ps Lorry drivers short in EU as well. Why? Like me gave up the ghost 2-3 years ago due to the cost of CPC, ADR and medicals. Personally the only reason I drove a wagon was to smuggle contraband which paid many many times the wages.
