4 tonnes of soil/rubble - how much to tip it?

Hello.

A friend of mine has dug his garden up and filled a 4T trailer. The chap that was going to take it to fill a wet hole has now changed his mind, so my man is a bit stuck.

A neighbour says he'll take it as long as my pal pays £100. Is that about right? I just need to go with the tractor and tip is - that's the end of my involvement, thank God!

TIA

Muck away round our way for an 8 wheeler is £120-£140/load, £100 for a small trailer sounds a bit much but does he have much choice?

£120 to £140 for the wagon to come around, get loaded and dispose of a full load of whatever crap is in the back? Are you sure that's right?
For inert material like clay and rubble yep, sent 14 loads out over the last couple of years, if it has plastic or anything 'non inert' then it goes to landfill at circa £60-100/mt depending on who you have to deal with.

There are a lot of old quarries around the midlands that big firms will fill up, they truck sand/gravel out and back load into the quarry with 'muck away'.

Not cash in hand either all invoiced by a big firm.

Just spoken to him on the phone, now. He does not want to pay, so we'll leave it another week. He's going to try to convince the original guy to take it.

Some people just want something for nothing! :)

Thanks, chaps.

I had a chap rock up when we were sowing , a pick up tipper with some lovely soil on , after a bit oohing and aarhing I said I'd let him tip on a ploughed headland if he tipped it in small piles .
£50 better off I whooshed the p/h through it and it was gone. :)
