Any engine will make horsepower with a Bosch A or P pump hanging on the side...

Doesn't necessarily mean that the engine in itself is any count
Yes your point being? The cooling capacity is what dictates the maximum reliable power, hence TMs can reliably produce a lot more power than a ts115 with aftermarket turbo, or a 6250r can make more than a 6610. All that aside, both the engines I mentioned are as bombproof as they come, hence my comment.

People seem to speak highly of those engines because of the power they could make... any 6bt or 7.5 that I've been around that was making more than stock power either suffered from cracked heads or thrown rods. Just 2 engines I wouldn't necessarily brag about that's all.

i know of many of both engines which are making more than stock power and none have had any problems. most of them are over 10k hours, one of the 6bt is on 27k hours
