When we got a demonstrator we thought it would be great for baling.

Be interested to hear what you think of it.

Difficult to get you JD men to change brand!
I just don't like vario boxes that you're nudging and pulling at the stick.
But I had that in a stubble field for a play while the lad was showing me how to do it and it's very strange in comparison but I think I've got my head round it but I'll know better tomorrow I've 60 acre of second cut to bale so ill either be in a good or a very bad mood and heading home for the JD

With our autocommand i just pull stick back to stop. Feels a bit rough but told it won't do it any harm. Tried using brakes to stop as this disengages transmission too, also tried just driving it on pedal mode, but driving on stick seems best way to get consistent sized bale.

Use stick for square baling too. Autopower much smoother than autocommand as far as i remember. Would hope the fendt vario is as good in fastrac.

Think the jcb demo guy recommended pedal mode for baling.

Pedals good for very rapid speed changes, - I use it for mowing. Would probably be good for round baling too.

For square baling I suggest ‘M’ (stick left to slow, right to speed). You can alter the sensitivity of it. The rev hold mode ( furthest right symbol) is good too if you set it up correctly.

I take it the best way to het it to hold pto revs is set up a max engine revs ??

I was playing around without the baler on but was in M with a cruise speed set and was thinking I would pull the stick left to stop or slow down then reverse??

There are some ‘preset engine speeds’ you can set up, and allocate these to the joystick buttons.
I always have the work speed set as top left button, and autosteer engage as bottom left, them you always have them to hand.

Set the PTO in gear, up the hand throttle a little, then press the set speed button (whichever you’ve set it to on the stick.

As you’ve said, run it in rev hold cruise, with ‘M’ highlighted yellow. Then move the stock left and it’ll drop out of the cruise and slow and stop. Green button on the stick and cruise will re engage.

I think I've sussed it out then will give it a bash

Stupid question what mode do I need to be in to hold pto revs and drive on the pedal?

Put it in low box (H/L button at base of joystick).

The. The screen should look like this

FX mode is ‘pedal’. When it’s green it’s active. Use the plus and minus at the base of the stick to set the maximum speed - it’s set for 65% on the pic above. You don’t want it any higher than necessary otherwise the pedal is too sensitive.

Thanks for that I thought the lad said that was for on the road but I maybe picked him up wrong

‘D’ (drive) on the road, in high box.

In the field I would have it so FX is green (active) and M is yellow (pre selected).

Then set the engine revs on the joystick as I said earlier. Forward speed is then on the pedal, and if you move the joystick it will switch to M (manual) mode where speed is controlled by moving the stick left and right.

Edit: In the pic above I had just popped out to it to get a picture - that’s why it’s in D mode as I’d just started it.

I can't seem to get the ore set throttle to work on a joystick button but I'm getting on fine this way with the hand throttle set

Press the next screen button at the bottom right of the main touch screen, then the engine symbol with n/min on at top right.
You should see this screen.

Pick one of the 5, and set the revs with the plus and minus keys. Don’t forget to press the save button at the bottom.

Then press the joystick (second down on left) and allocate that speed to the stick. Don’t forget there’s 5 presets so make sure you get the right one.

When you start the tractor you get the startup screen

Check here to make sure you have the button set to the right revs.
Then put it in manual mode. Knock the hand throttle up a bit (over about 1200rpm). Then press the joystick button and it should work.

Yeah done all that and can't get it to trigger it for some reason I'll get a better look when I've got this balein done I'll stick it in the plough later

Does it come up with the engine preset symbol on the screen? Or a red error message?
It doesn’t actually make a difference how the tractor works, it’s just a way of quickly selecting the right speed. Using the hand throttle shouldn’t make any difference to anything or how you drive it.

No error msg just can't get it to do anything

Spent a good 6 hrs balein with it today and really surprised myself I thought I'd be away home for a Deere by 9 this morning bit no I got going fine .

Only real complaints are most things have a fair pause or just seem slow to react like spools and speed changes compared to the JD but I've not driven anything else that I haven't got the same to say about. In a JD you move a switch you get an almost instant result.
And unlike the autopower when the pto is going it doesn't sort the forward speed to keep the pto up when your pulling hard on a hill you seem to need to do that yourself??.

That being said I'll take one any day over an R series.

It did seem a bit flat on the road on a hill but in the field.

Got the plough on now what sort of pressure should the tyres be 5 furrow long clearance heavy plough? It's dry on top and skidding away and I know from the last one I had these can plough very well in the wet
