Spent a good 6 hrs balein with it today and really surprised myself I thought I'd be away home for a Deere by 9 this morning bit no I got going fine .

Only real complaints are most things have a fair pause or just seem slow to react like spools and speed changes compared to the JD but I've not driven anything else that I haven't got the same to say about. In a JD you move a switch you get an almost instant result.
And unlike the autopower when the pto is going it doesn't sort the forward speed to keep the pto up when your pulling hard on a hill you seem to need to do that yourself??.

That being said I'll take one any day over an R series.

It did seem a bit flat on the road on a hill but in the field.

Got the plough on now what sort of pressure should the tyres be 5 furrow long clearance heavy plough? It's dry on top and skidding away and I know from the last one I had these can plough very well in the wet

Yeah the spools are a real bug bear of mine. You can’t go from float to extend without pausing in neutral for a second, not good for mowing, baler pickups etc. Only way tp ise them properly is allocate them to the stick or a hms sequence.

It will sort the forward speed as engine load changed but you need to put it in rev hold cruise - the right hand one I was on about earlier, not manual or pedal.

We don’t have 600s so can’t really comment, but put a weight on the front if you can.

Before you start setting the plough up, set the tractor up. Put the 4wd and diff in auto, set them so the diff cuts out when the plough clears the ground. Put the 4ws in head (user) mode, and set it to delay about 30%.
Set the wheel slip on, draught etc up.

Put the tractor in low box, manual, and then a speed hold field cruise. Set the maximum speed at the speed you want to go - don’t set it miles too high otherwise it just revs and spins trying to get to it.
If you set the speed realistically it will adjust speed and revs automatically - feels weird to start with but it does work.
Set the hand throttle to 1200 ish.
When you get to the end knock the joystick to the left, it will go back to manual for a smooth headland turn.
When you drop the plough in go back to your cruise mode, either by the green button or incorporating it into the HMS.

I do recommend doing the hms, will talk you through it if you want.

Got 5/600 ish kgs on the front I don't run much weight on my JD I'm getton better since I remembered to turn the draught on o remember last time it humped down with rain and I just skidded so let a fair bit of wind out the tyres and it just walked off but no idea how much I went to .

Trying to get 8k and it's a fair slope and heavier ground so she's revving to 1700 up hill and cruising down at 1300

I've 2 cruise speeds set one for ploughing and one for getting in and out the ends so out them on 2 buttons and the lift on the other 2 so getting on well enough like that

Obviously weight depends on the plough on the back, you want 50/50 weight split if possible. Obviously tyre pressures then depend on this. We had Trelleborg man out with scales, apparently most makes will do it as a freebie. Rough guide IIRC let them down so 3 lugs on the floor and stick to 30kph.

Sounds like you’re getting on well with it though. Gearbox and revs sounds right too.

Yeah I'm getting on fine with it I had a demo when they came out must've been 4 yrs ago I actually ploughed the same field I'm in now.
Just always been apprehensive of round balein with one being so used to autopower. I was by no means running at full tilt today if I'd had my own tractor I'd have been an hour quicker easily but I think in time I could be fairly quick with this .

The pto rev thing I was using the right hand rev hold cruise and a few times on a steep bit if I was trying to push on it about stalled before I got it slowed down to let it pick up again . I think I maybe need the dealer fastrac guru but I think he's away just now

If you go into the gearbox settings you can set the revs, the amount the revs drop before it slows and the speed of response.

Whats the verdict on it then?
I'd miss the spools and autopower of the Deere but that's all I could definitely have one .

Wasn't really keen on ploughing with it endrigs and corners weren't easy you need the joystick to speed up and slow down unless you use the pedal but then you've no way to let the plough down gently without moving to the lift control. But the comfort for doing ends is unreal JD are good but that is excellent.

One thing I don't like is the shuttle having no neutral position and that doesn't just go for JCB there were a few stretched fences the other day

Good evening guys,
Got suspension issue with our 4220, right side suspension rams are extended out and left side retracted in, dealer attempts to recalibrate are unsuccessful.
Anyone else experienced this or have a solution?
Thanks

not on a 4220,but earlier models had a potentiometer each side to set ride height and when these fail it can cause similar, not had anything to do with 4220 s though.no fault codes...?if so look on jcb fault codes on google.fault codes in the touch screen like earlier models?
