Anybody got one?

Need a new 3/4g router as the Solwise has given up at under 2yrs old.

Got to be a embedded sim job and have an antenna plug to take an external antenna.
Prices seem to vary from £85-400+

Quite a few to choose from just looking for any experiences.

I've got the following brand new (sealed in box) routers here:
  • EE "Flexi" 4GEE Home Router (basically an EE branded Huawei E5180 router). It's got an ethernet port.
  • EE Osprey 2 Mini 4GEE WiFi rouer
  • Huawei B593s-22, with optional "rabbit ear" antennas included
The Huawei was a spare, and the EE boxes I've had as included as part of EE deals I've had but I've used my own 4G router, so they've been sitting on the shelf.

50GB a month sounds a lot, but if there are kids on the connection Xbox and the like can eat data at an unbelievable rate

I agree but when 0.45mbps is all that's on offer down the BT line, What do you do?

Neighbours have two teenage boys with X boxes and they routinely go over 120gb in a month. We couldnt do that even if we downloaded non stop all month!!!

Just signed for the 50gb deal with EE at £27.50/month. Getting good 4g and 31-35mbps download using the little Osprey midi box.
Just me and Mrs here using internet so should be enough.
Discovered the hard way that having a new laptop backing up to Onedrive (included with Office 365) chews a spectacular hole in the 50gb!!!
The 50gb is for uploads and downloads!!!!

50gb is nowt on the scale of things
chrikey if you was to just back up a standard iphone to icloud which is a 16GB model & it was full
thats ya first 16GB away in no time.
what if its a 32GB or even 64GB version ?
Full Blu-ray Rip of a HD Disc can be easily 28GB.
Download some HD Videos thats decent length on youtube & you will soon eat into Data i'll tell you.

I agree with you!!!
The problem is that the mobile operators don't give you much data and they charge like hell for what you do get.
I have Talk Talk ordinary down the BT wire broadband as part of a phone calls/line renta/broadband deal, it's unlimited useage with no cap but what good is that when the best I can get is 0.45mbps????

To be honest we are just glad to be able to watch Iplayer at all, and YouTube without buffering at the moment.

Roll on unlimited data on 4g!!!!

It's getting there....

When I first started using the 4G mobile broadband service from EE in early 2014 it was £26.99/month for 8GB. A year later it was £20/month for 15GB. Most recently it was £24.75/month for 50GB.

So in the space of 2 years the per GB cost on monthly contract has fallen from £3.37/GB to 49.5p/GB. Almost 7 times cheaper in the space of 2 years.

It will continue to fall.

Latest EE plan is £27.45 inc. for 64 GB/month.

24 month plan. Rate above is 50% discount on headline rate (who pays that?) with an additional 10% off for being an existing customer.

Had to call them, as it's not listed on their website.

Cost per gig is just under 43p now, so continues the annual trend to push prices down. Unfortunately it still can't compete with unlimited fixed line deals, but it's better than paying for crap landline speed / rubbish broadband :p
