4G unlimited sims

The Three unlimited deal keeps varying. mine is £20 a month for 24 months. Their latest offer is £22.00 a month but half price for the first 6 months, which would have been slightly cheaper overall

see

http://www.three.co.uk/Store/SIM/Plans_for_phones

I use mine in a 4G router and external aerial for unlimited broadband and no issues yet with Broadband speed upto 70Mbs from a mast 8 miles away in rural Wales.

What's your usage ?

Only been using it for about three weeks but it's all my broadband for our household and streaming Netflix etc. most evenings. Router staistics say around 19.5Gb down and 3.5Gb up over the last 5 days or so.

The 18 months ( or whatever ) is the minimum period for the contract. There would be a penalty to pay if you cancelled early.
Once the initial period is over the contract rolls on..Then you can leave any time with (probably ) 1 months notice
I was just out of contract ; I was paying £60 for 200gb . I then gave them 30 days notice the best offer I got was to continue on the same for £45.There were other options for less gb and money but nothing that was very brilliant.
They happily gave me instructions and codes to unlock the router(as they are legally obliged to do) so I have a spare router .
I have taken the Three offer as a replacement it works fine
I have another EE router and contract that expires in November on the same deal. We will see what happens but EE don’t seem that keen to do a deal and all there old good deals have gone for the moment

As an alternative to three's unlimited 4g home broadband, Has anybody got Vodafone's unlimited 4g broadband £50/month on 18 month contract ?
I know you can get unlimited phone sim for less but don't want restricting by using it in a router.

I’m just out of contract with my EE 4gee home router package and the deals were rubbish that they offered me . So I have quit , got the unlock code for the router; does anyone know whether the new Vodafone unlimited sims will work in a router? I am with Vodafone with my phone , did a speed test ( the mast is in my neighbours field 400 meter away) only about 4mbps! Do they throttle the speed ? I know the new sims have 3 different unlimited plans at different prices depending on speed so they obviously have the capability
Forgive me if this is stupid but I forgot, trying Speedtest and was around 2.5-3 download in the house before remembering to switch off WiFi immediate increase to 18+mbps:mad:, also 3 phones never used to work on any other network, are 3 routers the same or does unlocking 3phones now let them work on other networks.

I know what you mean but yes I had switched off WiFi. The upshot was I rang Vodafone and it is a problem with my local mast, apparently they are coming second week in August.
If I go 4 miles away off a different mast I get 65mbps
It was an EE router not Three that I was out of contract with
Not sure about Three phone and routers I guess you just need the unlocking code from them when out of contract
I still ended up still buying an unlimited Vodafone sim(the 10mbps one) for around £21 as it was a new line on an existing account so get 15% off. I can confirm it does work in the old EE router that I had unlocked and when they get the mast fixed I may upgrade to the super fast speed one which for £25 a month unlimited will be brilliant

The gigacube is still a router though , and I think it still needs a power source. You can get an Huawel integrated smart speaker router Alexa from Three on a good deal if that’s the thing you are after. But I don’t want them listening to me more than they probably are already!

Thanks. I realise that the gigacube is a router. More asking if anyone was on the vodafone deal and whether there were any catches as in restrictions, hidden costs etc.
My problem is that at the farm house I can only get three's signal in 3g and not 4g (using a poynting external antenna) giving around 10mbs download. With Vodafone or EE on the same system I can get 50 ISH, so would suit better even though more expensive.
Problem with some of the phone unlimited sims, they dont allow you to use them in a 4g router due to fair usage policy etc.

As the 5G deployment rolls on now in later part of 2019 and early part of 2020, I would say there will be more and more carriers announcing “unlimited” packages.

It may be slightly premature to tie yourself into an 18 month contract, as we may see further competition as EE and the likes begin their 5G and unlimited offerings.
