4x4 tyres

255 55 R19 on an Amarok. Never got on with general grabbers before on a navara and did 3 sets in 45k miles plus half a set of normal road going tyres. Thinking about road noise as 90% of the driving is roadwork. Standard tyres only do 12-15k miles.
Cooper evolution?
BF Goodrich ?

My amarok is on 16k and standard tyres are 50% easy! And I drive very hard!

I’m using general grabber at3 on pickup at moment. They are smooth and quiet and had no dramas either wet or dry tarmac. Don’t look like they’ll do big miles though most roads rough winding lanes rather than motorway. Previous Cooper st maxx noisy and tedious on long journeys. I mention GG AT3 as don’t know if it was that particular General tyre on your previous navara.

That I can’t remember to be honest. It was a 14 plate which I had 2014-2017 but AT3 sound more familiar than AT2 to be honest.

Very strange, both mine and my colleagues 258hp ones have done easy 20k on tyres! Hi is on 26k and now getting tyres changed . You must be unlucky. But three sets in 45k is crazy!

41000 on a set of Bridgestones. Their ok on dry but terrible in the wet! Uphill hairpin bends need four wheel drive in the rain!! They need changing now. Has anyone tried Nokian all terrain tyres? Wondered if they might be worth a try?

Bfg all terrain here on 36k will do to45 k on the rear. Fronts i have changed but only because I drive like a loon off road and knock my tracking out.

I had bfg all terrain on my hilux and they did 50k plus.
Couldn't get that pattern to fit amarok so went with continental to match the brand new spare.
Don't do much off road with it as we have 2 old discovery's for field walking and general getting filthy.
Run insa turbo on them.

I can’t recall exactly when the GG AT3 tyre was released but believe it’s around 3 or 4 years. But if you are 90% highway then AT3 might not be the best choice though for your other 10% might worth a look. That said I have been impressed by the grabbers. I’ve mostly had Coopers previously, Discoverer ST and ST Maxx, both of which got quite noisy the more they wore. Had some less aggressive Cooper AT some time back.

Everybody is stating miles done, but no one has mentioned if the pickup was loaded or towing a trailer. Both of which will have a significant effect on tyre wear. Towing 3.5ton around probably has the most detrimental effect.
