I think they should start treating the Palestinians with some ethics before embarking on feeding the world from lab made meat. I do agree, Id rather lab based meat to cruelty to animals; but that doesnt mean that farming and slaughtering is cruel. Sadly tho, I can see the masses jumping on the hype and buying the crap.

Logically (and I accept that logic doesn't come into any of this) if the burger is to be produced in a factory, then so should the bun, and the chips, and the salad and mayo.
Our decision makers need to ruminate on the implications of that for society, for jobs, for food security and for health.

That’s just wrong, I can safely say I’d give up meat before I ate one of those, I’ve just made a dozen pigeon and pork and a dozen pigeon and beef 8oz burgers, well short of 5000 but it’s a start!
Hmmm
Where did you get them from ?

Do you think that if over the next 50yrs lab grown meat replaces natural meat, the next phase will be industrially produced factory grown vegetables?

Eventually factory food replacing natural food completely?
It doesn’t fill you full of confidence in forging ahead with your business. Bloody annoying. Let’s hope the masses don’t eat it.

Hang on, wasn't @Cowabunga berated and ridiculed in a previous thread where he was suggesting that maybe people in this industry were not taking such things seriously enough and not understanding the forward momentum in this drive etc, and here we are seeing what is one of the first of many buinesses going to be cropping up ever so quickly now...

Looks like its gonna be an interesting time ahead..

96% less fresh water? So quite a lot more than in normal beef production then? Wonderful. Greedy barstewards.

Then what happens to the countryside? If the land isnt farmed, then what? @ Barleycorn was right when he said if you look at energy capture in meat and cereals; its way more efficient than something man made. And lets not forget the entire cycle of industry. I think farming is one of the greenest ways of food production. Id better leave before I lose it.
