5 and half week old lambs, mums dead

I'm away for a week and local chap is looking after sheep while so. He is experienced and knows what he is doing.

He rang this morning to say he's found a ewe dead. From her tag I know who she is and she limbed twins 5 & half weeks ago.

They are on good grass with access to creep. We're well grown and doing fine before she turned her toes up.

Will they be fine to run on now? I've told him to leave them in the field with the rest but keep an eye.

Probably fine if eating creep and thieving milk at any opportunity.
Probably won't go as early as the rest tho.
Just keep an eye on them and the weather is very favourable for them

Agree to leaving them.

Im just heading out to put a ewe down, which has a pair of lambs 4-5weeks old. They are not on creep, but i am feeding the ewes daily so will be left. Hopefully they will be OK.

Once lambs are 25 kgs live weight their rumen should be developed enough to support themselves if the pasture quality is good, i.e. clovery pasture over 4cm and under 10cm. Access to creep would have advanced rumen development somewhat.

I had a Border Lester ewe die last year with a lamb 5 to 6 weeks old. It was near the yards so I took it home. I told my daughters they would probably not get it to drink and it would not get taim. It drank immediately and after about a day it was following them around. Dam thing is now quieter than the pets we had from day old.

Thread Iv a ewe die this morning with twin lambs on her. There just over 3 weeks old, nearly 4 weeks. Just wondering what's my best option. Ewes being fed but lambs haven't got creep yet
