I can’t believe that the number of birds released has increased tenfold in recent decades as they claim, so many of the big estates that used to release thousands every year have given up their shoots?

and going back to the early 1900’s the massive numbers shot would put current bags in the shade.

Its weird - the animal rights people are very keen on 'native' species only being allowed in the UK when its animals, but when its humans their attitude is entirely the reverse..............

working in the wholesale nursery, garden centre for many years, the amount of plants, shrubs, trees etc that come into this country every year, from all corners of the world runs into millions, bringing in with them many non native bugs, pests, diseases etc ? Also on a farming level must be many tons of food, meat that gets bought back from countries when our foreign friends go back to their home counties, with no checks on health or dease that the food may have ?
