6.00x16 v 7.50x16 tyres

Hi,
Bear with me, this could get confusing. From new, a Massey 550 could have 12.4x28 rears and 6.00x16 fronts, or 12.4x32 rears and 6.00x19 fronts. Mine has the 32" rears, and 7.50x16 on the front, it sits fairly level. I'd like to put 6.00 on the front but 4.50x19 rims seem a bit difficult to find so the question is...
If I put 6.00x16 on the front instead of the 7.50, is there likely to be any height difference ie a difference in rolling radius?

6.00x16 will lower the front end, to keep your tractor level you need 6.00x19.

Why do you want to put small tyres on? I always think a tractor looks way better on bigger fronts

That’s a big tractor for 6 x 16. My 135 has 6x16.

got ten hundred by 16 on our into 685 makes him sit back over a bit bigger is better for the loader anyway.


to the op 19 inch rims would be my choice and they arent hard to find either..............

well maybe they are...but try 'IndependantAgri Parts' ,or at least when Paul in Devon had the buisness he could get a wide range of wheels that others didnt really supply ... under one roof so to speak.. under new management now though...

The difference in diameter from 6 X 16 to 7.50 x 16 is 29 inches to 32 inches so you will lose 1.5 inches on the front , not a huge amount.f

I have 6.50x16 light truck tyres on the front of my 550. It is 13.75 inches from the centre of the hubcap to the ground if that is any help.

I use the truck tyres as they get no punctures compared to standard 3 rib farm tyres.

Thanks for all the input and suggestions. Once I get it onto some dry ground (some hope!), and break out the tape measure I'll let you know how I get on.
