60 x 30 shed steel sizes

anyone know what the max width you would get away with useing 7" x 4" H iron ? in a clear span 4 link shed , and what degrees you would cut the ends of the rafters on the saw

To be honest, the steel isn't worth skimping on.
7 x 4's are used on 30ft spans, and some use them on 40ft.
But the extra cost of using 8x 51/4 on a 40ft is negligible and a saving that I would not think worth while.

we have two sheds here already one (the oldest) is 30 foot and the second is 32 foot (we keep gettn braver every time) so going 35 foot would be a disaster ?

will be useing 0.7mm steel box cladding what in your opinion be the best degrees ? we dont tend to get much snow if thats makes any difference

40'

Anything over 30' and we're on 8x51/4.

Even on 30' the pillars are 8x51/4

Just put a price in for an 80 x 40ft, customer showed me quotes from other supposedly CE quality buildings and they were using 7x4x19kg on the roof rafters, and it was a 14ft to the eaves.
Couldn't believe it .

Most likely wouldn't be a disaster, but for a relatively small saving , why skimp?

aye just worked it out there , would only be roughly another 500 kg to upgrade to 8 x 5.25

what sort of money are beams per tonne in the UK at the minute

A 35' span will probably cost an extra £40 a ring to do in 8x5 1/4 at a guess, is it worth under speccing for that
