New to this thread ( skipped about6 pages in the middle!) but the very first post throws up a question in my mind.
You've possibly been gifted 600 acres of grass.
Right, so who's getting the land?
Do you get the grass for this year, or every year?

Plenty of land would fit that description in the Highlands and I am not sure I would want it at the price mentioned!

I knew an old gamekeeper on such a property who was bothered by "environmentalists". He solved that by suggesting they go forth and multiply or he'd be up at 4am on a Sunday morning with a box of matches and they wouldn't have anything to bother him about again. I gather it worked!:)
Yep walking away
How is debt attached to the land? I assume you mean it is held as security by a bank or similar institution. If that is the case, then you are not being gifted land, you are acquiring land by purchasing debt borrowed against it.

My understanding is that in the case of a death, the capital of the estate must first clear any borrowings against it before inheritance monies can be shared out. This sound to me like the surviving want shot of this land to increase their payouts.

Walk away.
Yes i think you are correct as a result im walking rolling away swiftly ♿

I have to say Old Vicarage enterprises in different categories on this forum seem a little mixed up when you started a year ago. It would be interesting if all your ideas became realities Or are they just dreams.

All my ideas are drams I thought we would be being able to put some of into actualities by now but we're not all so lucky as to have palns actually work the ways we intend on our timescale.
