6330 hard start

My jd 6330 standard is hard start from cold and hot. Mechanic reckons it’s head gasket but it’s not running hot at all. He saying there is back pressure in the radiator causing it. Would this seem right? I no it’s not a big job to do but said I’d ask before we go stripping. Tia

Check fuel pipes as they rubber ones can often crack and draw in air
